1. Purpose

The JR-type banana screen is designed for screening, dewatering, de-intermediation, and de-sliming of coal, sand, gravel aggregates, minerals, and other materials. This series features variable screening areas, aperture sizes, number of deck segments, and inclination angles to accommodate different applications and processing capacities. Available in single-layer and double-layer configurations, the working area ranges from 5.7m² to 30.2m². With 20 primary specifications and models, this equipment effectively meets the production requirements of diverse mining operations and coal preparation plants.

2. Structure and Technical Characteristics

1) Utilizing the principle of equal-thickness screening, the screen surface features a steeper incline at the feed end, which gradually decreases in angle toward the discharge port. As material traverses this sloped surface, it benefits from higher screening speeds and thinner bed depths. Because bulk material moves more rapidly across the steep initial section, early stratification occurs, allowing fine particles to approach the screen surface faster and pass through the apertures with minimal resistance. Consequently, banana screens deliver superior screening efficiency and significantly higher processing capacity compared to traditional grading screens, representing an advanced solution in screening machinery.

2) Vibrator: Features the world’s advanced JR box vibrator (see the introduction of the JR vibrator for details). It utilizes splash lubrication with a built-in lubricating oil channel in the housing to ensure adequate bearing lubrication. The gears are high-precision helical gears, and the bearings are specialized for vibration equipment. An oil drain plug with magnetic properties and an external organic plastic transparent oil sight glass allow for easy observation of the oil level. Special measures are adopted to ensure smooth operation of the bearings and gears; the vibrator noise is less than 75 decibels, and the bearing temperature remains below 50°C.

3) The exciter beam adopts a triple I-shaped beam structure, overcoming the issue of poor stress distribution in the middle of square beams. It is equipped with stiffener plates, offering high rigidity and lightweight design, and undergoes stress relief treatment after welding.

4) The lower beam supporting the screen surface utilizes a specialized I-beam design. The connection between this beam and the screen surface system employs high-strength bolts, effectively eliminating local stress concentrations caused by welding and extending the beam’s service life. This bolted configuration also facilitates easy maintenance of the screen surface system. Additionally, the beam surface can be coated with a polyurethane protective layer upon request, offering superior resistance to erosion and abrasion.

5) Side plate contour cutting and drilling are performed using high-precision CNC machinery to ensure exact dimensional accuracy. The side plates feature a weld-free construction, which prevents stress concentration and significantly reduces the risk of cracking.

6) Two methods are available for securing the screen surface: one uses polyurethane press wood at both ends within a middle rail seat type configuration, while the other uses polyurethane press wood at both ends in a middle pressboard type setup. Both systems are compatible with either polyurethane or stainless steel screen surfaces. This flexibility allows users to select and configure the optimal solution based on their specific operational requirements.

7) A feeding box with sufficient strength, rigidity, and length is provided to prevent the impact of large pieces of material or improper design of the feeding chute, which may cause large pieces of material to fall directly onto the screen surface, leading to premature damage.

8) All key components are connected by torsion shear-type high-strength bolts, ensuring reliable connections and ease of maintenance.

9) The main components are made of Q245R, a special steel for pressure vessels, offering excellent impact toughness, cold bendability, and weldability.

10) Each sieve machine undergoes an 8-hour no-load test before leaving the factory to ensure safe and reliable operation.

11) Modular component design with a high degree of generalization facilitates easy installation and maintenance for users; the screen surface can be mesh or plate, available in stainless steel or polyurethane according to different user needs.

12) Steel spiral springs are used to reduce vibration, minimizing the dynamic load of the screen machine on the foundation.

13) All main welded structural parts undergo stress relief treatment, and all component surfaces are shot peened.
