How to Maintain a Linear Vibrating Screen

Date: Sep. 10, 2021

Many customers put vibrating screens directly into production upon delivery without first verifying equipment performance. This often leads to various operational issues over time. This article outlines essential maintenance practices for vibrating screens.

Daily Maintenance of Vibrating Screens

(1) Before starting the equipment, check bearing lubrication and screen tension. An overly loose screen can cause local deflection and bulging, leading to premature wear and reduced screening efficiency.

(2) Monitor transmission belt tension before startup and during operation. Improper tension can decrease the vibrating screen’s productivity and even cause complete screen blockage.

(3) Carefully inspect all bolt connections on the sieve machine and transmission device.

(4) Lubricate the rolling bearings of adjustable linear vibrating screens with molybdenum disulfide or yellow glycerin. In winter, add 25% engine oil to the lubricant.

(5) The allowable temperature rise of the bearings in the adjustable linear vibrating screen must not exceed 75°C, as excessive heat can compromise bearing performance. Factors such as incorrect lubricant selection, improper oil levels, dust ingress into the bearings, or faulty installation may also adversely affect them. Therefore, it is essential to strengthen bearing maintenance during operation.

(6) The adjustable linear vibrating screen generates a significant amount of dust. To improve working conditions and ensure operator health, the screening machine should be equipped with a sealed outer cover and a dust removal system.

(7) The sieve machine must be started under no-load conditions. Feeding equipment should only be activated once the drive shaft reaches its specified rotational speed.

(8) Regularly monitor noise levels and material flow on the screen surface, promptly removing debris such as iron wire, rods, wood, and other foreign objects. During each shift shutdown, check for lubricant leaks, monitor vibrator bearing temperatures, and inspect the temperature of the screen and screen box. If fasteners become loose, report any abnormalities immediately.

(9) Pay attention to abnormal sounds during daily startup. Noise may occur if the spring is damaged, the bolt is loose, the bearing is faulty, or the screen mesh is not sufficiently tensioned; identify and eliminate the cause of any abnormal noise promptly.

(10) After use: The vibrating screen should be cleaned immediately after each operation.
